Dr. Kristina Hudson Named Executive Director of Secondary Education

The Fayetteville Board of Education voted unanimously this evening to approve Dr. Kristina Hudson as the Executive Director of Secondary Education effective July 1, 2019.

Dr. Hudson has served as an assistant principal at Ramay Junior High since 2017. Hudson came to Fayetteville Public Schools from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she served as a teaching assistant for Louisiana State University and as the Director of School Accountability for the Southern University Laboratory School. Prior to that time, Hudson spent seven years as an instructional specialist/teacher of instructional support for Capitol Middle School.

“Dr. Hudson has been an invaluable member of our leadership team,” said Superintendent Dr. John L Colbert.  “She will be an asset as a leader of our secondary schools. I look forward to seeing her impact on our students and staff members.”

Reporting to Dr. Steven Weber, Associate Superintendent for Teaching and Learning, Dr. Hudson will support, supervise, and evaluate junior high and high school principals.  She will provide leadership to the district’s program directors as well as the curriculum design, review, and implementation cycle. “Dr. Hudson has a record of supporting teachers, students, and families. Her background as an instructional coach, administrator, and leader will support continuous improvement in Fayetteville Public Schools,” said Dr. Weber.

“As a military family, it’s been so wonderful to become part of such a special community,” said Dr. Hudson.  “Working in Fayetteville Public Schools has been a great privilege and blessing, and I look forward to continuing this work.”

Dr. Hudson received her Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Leadership degree from Louisiana State University. She also holds both master’s and bachelor’s degrees in history from Louisiana State University. Dr. Hudson taught for nine years in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.
