CELEBRATING OUR PRINCIPALS! Meet Jason Edwards! This is Mr. Edwards' sixth year as the principal of Root Elementary. Mr. Edwards has worked for FPS since 2005. Previously, he served as an assistant principal at Vandergriff, a physical education teacher at Vandergriff, a first-grade teacher at Holcomb Elementary, and a special education behavior management classroom teacher at Leverett Elementary. Q: What would students and parents be surprised to find out about you?😮
A: I have a passion for Special Olympics and have volunteered with Special Olympics for over 15 years. I am now the Area 3 Special Olympics co-director with my wife Brooke Edwards. Area 3 serves all of NWA. I also love to scuba dive and snorkel!
Q: What is one of your favorite go-to feel-good movies? 🍿
A: My favorite go-to feel-good movie is "Stand By Me"!
Q: What is your favorite memory as a principal so far? ✨
A: Seeing the joy of students each day! One event that I remember is when I drove a pink Barbie car down the halls of Root as an incentive for our school to reach our fundraiser goal. That was my first year as principal and all the students and staff loved seeing me do this funny activity.
Q: What is your favorite dish from the cafeteria? 😋
A: Chicken and Waffles!

A: Be kind to everyone!
Q: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go? 🗺️
A: Yosemite National Park is a place that has majestic connections everywhere you explore. I would love for my wife and daughter to experience the magic!
